Welcome to a space I’ve long envisioned—a project four years in the making, slowly taking shape, finding its voice, and finally ready to step into the world. So, in the spirit of my favorite sports idol and hip-hop legend combined: allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Paz. A little over a year ago, I made a decision that had always made the most sense, I chose to believe in myself. Feeling overwhelmed and stretched thin in a stressful work environment helped me take the leap of faith and left the corporate world and started my own design studio offering drafting and visualization services working alongside a great friend and former co-worker of mine and his residential/commercial design firm. This was an opportunity to dive into a new type of design work and a chance to expand my project management skills in the residential and commercial sectors. For the past year I have been working fully remote from my home office managing my own time and stress levels while getting to work on putting together construction documents and visualizations for some beautiful private residencies in the Tampa Bay area. The past year has been very fulfilling in terms of the knowledge and confidence I have gained in becoming a professional in this industry. At the same time living in solitude hundreds of miles away from your closest family member can also take its toll. Somehow avoiding a direct hit from a Cat-5 hurricane and almost missing your fathers birthday because your job had become the #1 priority in life would serve as motivation to pursue a happier life. Florida has been a great blessing, and although i don’t always agree with its politics I’ve been able to experience some of the most beautiful and work-inspiring natural landscape’s and environment's while also experiencing some of the most dangerous forces of nature like hurricanes and Florida man who threaten this special place from existing. Seriously tho, Floridians deserve more love than they get, some of the kindest and most welcoming people, I think its because we shared the GOAT in Tom Brady. Can you tell how much I miss home yet? So i have decided to make my way back to Rhode Island, to New England, where dynasty’s are born and renaissance occurs and with that being said, right now is the moment for Studio Cultivo to take the next stage. Which is why I’ve decided to take on this digital space to serve as an organized, intentional, and ever-growing collection of my architectural work. As I continue navigating my career in design, this website becomes more than a portfolio; it’s a curated digital gallery of the ideas, experiments, and built projects that shape my identity as a designer and future licensed Professional architect.
Hope you stick around.
Paz
